For Mumford & Sons’ Guiding Light, directed by Joe Connor and produced by You Are Here Productions, I created a series of burst-sequence still photographs during the band’s performance outside Tate Modern.
One hundred fans joined the band on London’s South Bank. The band decided to play live, transforming the shoot into a joyous shared performance as commuters and passers-by stopped to watch along the Thames.
The sequences cut through the video in flickering black-and-white fragments—faces, gestures and details drawn from within the crowd. They shift the perspective between the musicians and those gathered around them.
